  1. This photographing studio looks like it is in England. I found this link: http://newsarch.rootsweb.com/th/read/GLAMORGAN/1998-09/0905204157

    It shows the full address as "C & M WALLIS, 8 & 9 Clarence Place, Newport, Monmouthshire."

    Not related to the family or live anywhere near there. I wish!

    Happy to see you had a look at this challenging carte de visite. You have the address absolutely correct, except for the part about it being in England. Newport, Monmouthshire is actually in Wales. Any guesses on the date?
